MEMORANDUM
Whereas the West Bengal Rules of Business relating to Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal has been amended vide No. 439/1(14)-Home (cons.) dated 16.12.2011;
AND
Whereas consequent upon the said amendments, organization of some additional cultural activities viz. Jhumur, Gambhira, Baul, Bhatiyali, Kabi-Gan, Puppetry, Chhau, Sarigan, Bachhari Baich (traditional boat race), Woodcrafts, Kantha Silpa, Observance of the movement of 1873 for dignity and equality before law has been included in the West Bengal Rules of Business relating to Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal;
AND
Whereas it has been felt imperative to have a committee for providing guidelines to organize such festivals successfully with professionalism;
Now, therefore, after careful consideration of the matter, in partial modification of this department’s earlier Memo No. 1263-BCW dated 09.04.2012, the Governor is pleased to constitute a new cultural committee for organizing such cultural activities, in the following manner:-

| 5. | Shri Sayan Bhattacharya-Anthropologist, Indian Museum, Kolkata | Member |

The Committee will provide necessary guidelines for organizing the above mentioned festivals successfully.
The Committee will meet once in 2 months or as necessary.
