ORDER

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 21 of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board Act, 2014 (West Ben. Act XIV of 2014), the Governor has been pleased to direct the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board to conduct the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations, 2015 on 5th and 6th May, 2015, in 282 centres of West Bengal, Assam and Tripura, as mentioned in the Schedule appended. Whereas, it is necessary to ensure an environment conducive to the conduct of a competitive examination in the designated examination centers, the regular academic and other activities in the institutions mentioned in the Schedule and located in West Bengal shall need to be closed for those two days, to enable the conduct of the said examination involving a large number of students.

The concerned Government Departments and affiliating Universities are advised to declare a ‘local holiday’ and issue suitable instructions to the authorities of the institutions mentioned in the Schedule appended for co-operating with the Joint Entrance Examinations Board for the purpose of conducting the Joint Entrance Examinations, 2015 on 5th and 6th May 2015 in the interest of public service.

This Order is issued in terms of the Finance Department’s U.O Reference No. 0004/2015-2016 (Group-P2) dated 07.04.2015.

ORDER

Whereas, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board will conduct the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination, 2015 on 5th and 6th May, 2015 in different Schools under the School Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal as mentioned and included in the Schedule attached with the order of the Higher Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal vide order No. 155-Edn(T)/4E-10/12(Pt-II), dated 10.04.2015 (copy enclosed);

And whereas, in terms of the said order the Higher Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal, has advised to declare a ‘local holiday’ in the said Schools as mentioned and included in the Schedule attached with the order (copy enclosed) to ensure smooth conduct of the aforesaid examination;

Now therefore, the Governor has been pleased to direct that 5th and 6th May, 2015 are hereby declared as local holidays in the said Schools only; and the regular academic and other activities in the said schools shall remain closed on the days of examination and concerned School authorities will co-operate with the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board for the purpose of conducting the Joint Entrance Examination, 2015 on 5th and 6th May, 2015 in the said Schools in the interest of public service. However all teachers and staff required for invigilation and other duties relating to the Joint Entrance Examination will attend on those days.
