NOTICE
The employers of different Factories, Commercial Establishments, Plantations, Motor Transport Undertaking, Hotel, Restaurant, Public Entertainment and Amusement Establishments are required to deposit half-yearly contribution to this Board. Besides, Unpaid Accumulation for wages, bonus and gratuity accumulated for three years to be deposited. The amounts may be deposited by cash/draft/money order/cheque to be drawn in favour of the Welfare Commissioner, West Bengal Labour Welfare Board within 15th January and 15th July every year as per West Bengal Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1974. Non payment of statutory dues is punishable with imprisonment or fines or both.
NOTICE – II (SCHOLARSHIP/STIPEND)
West Bengal Labour Welfare Board will allow sons and daughters of the employees, who are contributing to the West Bengal Labour Welfare Fund. Scholarship/Stipend for the course from Higher Secondary, Post Graduate, Medical; Engineering & Diploma Courses approved by this Board.
Conditions for Scholarship:-
- Yearly income of the contributing employee shall not be exceeding Rupees One Lac Twenty Thousand,
- Minimum 65% marks in Secondary Examination,
- Minimum 55% marks in HS & above Examination (Relaxation of 5% marks for students whose Guardian/Father/Mother are residents and employed in North Bengal).
Conditions for Stipend:-
- Yearly income not exceeding Rupees Seventy Two Thousand,
- Pass in Examination of the Board/University.
Candidate may apply in prescribed forms which will be available on production of Mark-Sheet from a) Head Office of the Board at above mentioned address, b) Siliguri Regional Office of West Bengal Labour Welfare Board at Dagapur Complex, P.O.- Pradhan Nagar, Siliguri, Darjeeling, c) All the Labour Welfare Centres of the Board, d) From the official web-site of the Board- www.wblwb.org. Candidates who are continuing the courses should apply freshly in prescribed form for Scholarship/Stipend for each subsequent year of the course. Recipients of Scholarship/ Stipend from any other sources will not be eligible for the Scholarship/Stipend of the Board.
Last Date of receiving application:- 31st January, 2015.
NOTICE – III (BOOK GRANT)
The Board also invites application for awarding Book Grant to the students of class IX and X from the families of workers who are contributing to West Bengal Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1974.
Conditions-
- Yearly Income of the contributing employee shall not exceed Rs. 78000/- (Rupees Seventy Eight Thousand) only;
- The student must secure pass marks in the annual examination in the school.
Candidates should apply in prescribed form which will be available from the location stated above.
Last Date of receiving application:- 31st January, 2015.
HOLIDAY HOMES:- Board runs Holiday Homes at Digha, Bakkhali, Puri, Gangtok and Darjeeling. Workers/Employees from contributing families can enjoy the Holiday Homes at a very nominal rate. Others also may avail these facilities on a different rate. There are also Rest Rooms at Head Office, Regional Office at Siliguri and Hasimara at Alipurduar. Booking may be made from Head Office and Regional Office at Siliguri.
