NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the power conferred by section 22 of the West Bengal State Dental Service Act, 2009 (West Ben. Act V of 2009), the Governor is pleased hereby to make the following rules, namely:-
Rules
1. Short title, commencement and application.
(1) These rules may be called the West Bengal State Dental Service (Scale of Pay and Non-Practicing Allowances) Rules, 2010.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
(3) These rules shall apply to the members of the West Bengal Dental Service and the West Bengal Dental Education Service.
2. Scales of pay.
(1) The scales of pay for different posts in the cadre of West Bengal Dental Service shall be as follows:-
(a) Special Selection grade: Pay Band: 4; Pay Band Scale: Rs. 9000 – 40500/-; with initial pay at Rs. 22320/-in the band and Grade Pay of Rs. 7600/-;
(b) Selection grade: Pay Band: 4; Pay Band Scale: Rs. 9000-40500/-; with initial pay at Rs. 18600/-in the band and Grade Pay of Rs. 6600/-;
(c) Basic grade: Pay Band: 4; Pay Band Scale: Rs 9000 – 40500/-; with initial pay at Rs. 15600/- in the band and Grade Pay of Rs. 5400/-
(2) The scales of pay for different posts in the cadre of West Bengal Dental Education Service shall be as follows:-
(a) Principal-cum-Superintendent: Pay Band: 5; Pay Band Scale: Rs. 37400 – 60000/-; with initial pay at Rs. 37400/- in the band and Grade Pay of Rs. 10000/-;
(b) Professor: Pay Band: 5; Pay Band Scale: Rs. 37400 – 60000/-; with initial pay at Rs. 37400/- in the band and Grade Pay of Rs. 9500/-;
(c) Associate Professor: Pay Band: 4; Pay Band Scale: Rs. 9000 – 40500/-; with initial pay at Rs. 23250 in the band and Grade Pay of Rs. 8000/-;
(d) Assistant Professor: Pay Band: 4; Pay Band Scale: Rs. 9000-40500/-; with initial pay at Rs 18600 in the band and Grade Pay of Rs. 7000/-;
(e) (Basic Teachers (Dental Surgeon-cum-Clinical Tutors/ Demonstrators): Pay Band: 4; Pay Band Scale: Rs. 9000-40500/-; with initial pay at Rs. 15600/- in the band and Grade Pay of Rs. 5400/-.
3. Non-Practicing Allowance.
The rates of non-practicing allowance, admissible to the members of the West Bengal Dental Education Service and the West Bengal Dental Service, appointed in such posts where practice is not permitted; and for such persons who do not opt for practice but not permitted to practice, shall be computed at the rate of 30% and 25% on the basic pay respectively.
Provided that the Basic Pay and non-practicing allowance taken together shall not exceed Rupees eighty thousand only at any time.
4. Retention of pay scale.
Persons opting for the West Bengal Dental Education Service and subsequently absorbed or appointed in the said service shall have the options of retaining the pay scale as had been admissible to them in the former West Bengal Dental Service immediately before the coming into force of these rules, till such time as may be declared by them while exercising the option for the scale of pay of the said West Bengal Dental Education Service.
5. Other allowances.
The posts of West Bengal Dental Education Service and the West Bengal Dental Service shall carry dearness allowance and other allowances and any such other pay and allowances in terms of the Government orders for the time being in force.
