One of my friends is doing B.Ed. (ODL) from Malda and she serves at a school in Dhupguri (in Jalpaiguri district). She is currently appearing in the examination (on Sundays). It is really hard for her to attend the school on Saturdays and Mondays. She finds it strenuous in managing ways to commute up to Malda after attending the classes on Saturdays and again come back to service station right after the weakly exam gets over. That is why she has already been forced to take C.L. on quite a few occasions. She has urged the HM to grant on-duty leaves on Saturdays and Mondays. But their HMs is stubborn against entertaining any such plea. Is she entitled to get on-duties on those two days (Sat and Mon) during the course of the examination? Please provide the G.O.

She will get “ON DUTY” only for attending personal contact programmes (PCP) and other academic programmes as per schedule notified by the Netaji Subash Open University provided she produces certificate from the study centre as to her attendance to the programmes, not before or/and after that date/s.

Thanks Mr. Garain. Now, you think, is it really not a matter of concern for many of the teachers doing B.ed. through ODL mode?
