I am a Veterinary Officer. Recently, I have been transferred from Jalpaiguri to Paschim Medinipur. In this connection, I want to know what is maximum limit of transit leave under west bengal service rule during transfer. Please provide necessary G.O in this regards.September 6, 2014 at 11:37 am #79834Anonymous
A Joining time of 12 days is admissible where the transfer necessarily involves continuous travel by road for more than 200 km as per rule 81 of WBSR – I.

@gpgarain But what about the school teachers (aided)? Many are going to require the G.O. regarding transit leave very soon as many of them are about to get transferred through G.T. and, as the case may be, through SSC as well.December 18, 2014 at 12:24 pm #80097Anonymous
Those who are recommended for General Transfer will have to join within 3 days including holiday/s from the date on which he/she takes release from his/her old school. This is clearly written over their Recommendation Letter. So no confusion about this.December 18, 2014 at 12:42 pm #80098Anonymous
@gpgarain Thanks. But what if they change the schools through SSC? I am asking this because although I have changed three schools, I did not avail of this kind of leave. Will there, too, candidates have to join the new school within three days? Please clarify.December 18, 2014 at 12:51 pm #80099Anonymous

Here is your answer.September 29, 2016 at 5:43 am #81990Anonymous
I am a surgeon.
I have been transferred from South 24 parganas to Darjeeling district.
I have 2 specific questions.
1. If I take my release on 5 th October, as government office will be closed from 6 th October, one of my seniors told me that my release will be counted from 17 th October ( the very next working day to 5 th October) and then I can avail 12 days transit leave from 17th October to join on 1st November as 29,30 and 31st are holidays.
Please let me know in detail as I have to buy my train ticket in this pick puja period.
Thanks and regards.September 29, 2016 at 7:45 am #81991Anonymous

Thanks for your kind post.
From the link you provided, I could get how many days leave I shall be able to take10/12/15;
But first part of my query is not cleared.
If I take release on 5 th,whether my date of joining would be 17 th October or 1st November(as I have described in my earlier post)? Whether office closure from 6 th to 16 th will be counted as period of transit leave or my transit will be started from 17 th to 28 th(as described earlier on)?
PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS PART.
Regards and thanks again.September 29, 2016 at 8:20 am #81993Anonymous
You need to join by 17th oct.as the transit leave does not mean working days only, it includes all kind of holidays. I think its clear now.September 29, 2016 at 10:37 am #81996Anonymous
