Notification

The Fee-Structure Committee, set up by the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal vide resolution No. 826-Edn(T) dated 18/10/2004 in its recommendation dated 31st May, 2012 has decided and prescribed tuition and other fees for the students admitted in the academic year 2012-2013 and sent the said recommendations to the Government.

In consideration of above recommendations of the Fee-Structure Committee, the Governor is pleased to revise the existing tuition-fee for students admitted in the under-graduate engineering, technology and pharmacy courses in the private self-financing colleges of the State in the manner indicated hereinafter;

For the students admitted in First Year Engineering Courses in the Academic Year 2012-2013

i. Maximum tuition fee will be the following:

First Year (2012-2013) Rs. 72,000
Second Year (2013-2014) Rs. 74,000
Third Year (2014-2015) Rs. 76,000
Fourth Year (2015-2016) Rs. 78,000

Tuition Fee is inclusive of Development Fee and thus no separate Development Fee can be charged by the Colleges.

ii. Besides tuition fee as prescribed, Colleges Like last academic year, may charge following fees from the students admitted in the Academic Year 2012-2013:

a. One time Admission Fee of Rs. 4,000/- at the maximum for entire Course period.
b. Library cum Book-Bank Fee not exceeding Rs. 4,000/- for the entire Course period.
c. Students’ Welfare and Sports and Games Fee not exceeding Rs. 1000/- annually.
d. A reasonable amount as refundable Caution Money.
e. Fees charged by the University for Welfare of students and Development.
f. Other usual University Fees like Registration Fee, Examination Fee etc.

iii. No College will be entitled to realize, charge or demand any other fee of Compulsory nature from the students.

iv. No capitation fee in any form or kind can be realized from the students for admission or continuance of study in the Colleges.

This Notification is issued in public interest and in supersession of all previous Memorandam and/or Notifications issued by this Department.
