West Bengal Government Notification related to Government Holidays, Public Holidays, Holidays under Negotiable Instruments Act (N.I. Act) etc.
Governor is pleased to declare the days as specified at List I below to be Public Holidays during the year 2022. List II which are not declared to be public holidays. List III observed as Sectional Holidays in the year 2022.
State Government has decided to declare holiday on 29th January, 2020 (Wednesday) in connection with Saraswati Puja in addition to already declared 30th and 31st January, 2020, for all State Government offices.
Approved List of Holidays & Vacations of the City Civil Court, Calcutta for the year 2022 to be observed by the West Bengal Judicial Academy in the year 2022.
Governor is pleased to declare 27th December, 2025 (Saturday) as a Sectional Holiday on account of ‘Prakash Purab’ of Guru Gobind Singh Ji for the employees belonging to Sikh community.
Governor has been pleased to declare the date i.e. 3rd September, 2025 (Wednesday) as State Government Holiday on account of Karam Puja, 2025.
All Government Offices, Organizations under it, Undertakings, Corporations, Boards, Statutory and Local Bodies, Educational Institutions etc. situated within the Assembly Constituency will remain closed on the respective dates so that every employee is able to exercise his/her right to franchise in the election.
Handing over the charge by an officer whose actual date of superannuation happens to be a holiday but where handing over charge of cash/ stores is involved.
