Guidelines to conduct Higher Secondary Practical and Project Examinations, 2026
1) Higher Secondary Practical and Project Examinations (under Semester and Old Yearly System), 2026 will commence from 02/03/2026 and continue till 23/03/2026.
2) Institutions will conduct the practical examinations of their enrolled students in all practical based subjects including MUSC and PHED/HPED by the respective existing subject teachers (permanent or contractual as the case may be).
3) Practical examination in Statistics (STAT) is to be conducted on 06th March, 2026 (Friday) from 12.00 noon to 3.00 pm.
4) The Council will distribute blank answer scripts (04 leaves & 02 leaves) and practical question papers among schools from different distribution camps on 28/01/2026.
5) There will be no practical question papers for PHED or HPED. The concerned subject teachers have to conduct the practical examination in these subjects as per syllabus, curriculum and rubrics.
6) If there is no teacher in the school for any subject(s), eligible subject teacher(s) of any neighboring school can be appointed for conducting practical/ project examination. However, permission of the concerned Regional Office of the Council in this respect is to be taken by producing consent of the subject teacher and “no objection” of the concerned Head of the Institution.
7) Candidate(s), already passed in H.S. Practical Examination under Old System in previous year, need not to be appeared in practical examination under old system again.
8) Signature of the concerned examiner and counter signature of the Head of the Institution on practical answer scripts are mandatory.
9) Evaluated practical answer scripts/ project copies need not require to be submitted to the Council at this stage. It should be kept in the safe custody of the concerned Head of the Institution according to the Registration Number/ Roll Number of the students till receiving any instruction from the Council. The answer scripts will be collected by the Council as and when required.
10) After conducting the examinations, practical marks and project marks of all enrolled students have to be submitted to the Council through Online Portal (https://wbchseexam.wb.gov.in:8080/exisMarks) from 05/03/2026 to 28/03/2026 positively.
11) Institutions need not to be submitted the hard copy of practical & project marks foils to the Council.
12) Every Head of the Institution & examiner must be very careful during uploading of practical and project marks online to avoid any mistake/ error.
13) At the time of marks entry on portal, institutions will be allowed to enter maximum “02 digit numbers” against “obtained marks” by the candidates or “AB” against “absent” candidates.
14) For any query, Head of the Institutions may contact the respective Regional Offices of the Council during office hours.
