NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the power conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor is pleased hereby to make, in supersession of all previous notification on the subject, the following rules regulating the recruitment to the posts of Revenue Officer under the Irrigation and Waterways Department, Government of West Bengal:-
Rules
1. Short title and commencement:
(1) These rules shall be called the rules regulating the recruitment to the posts of Revenue Officer under the Department of Irrigation and Waterways, Government of West Bengal.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
2. Method of recruitment:
(i) By transfer from the Officers of the West Bengal Civil Service (Executive).
(ii) By promotion from the post of Assistant Canal Revenue Officer having six years experience in the post.
Provided that officers of this category who opt for promotion to the West Bengal Civil Service (Executive) shall not be constituted for promotion to the post of Revenue Officer.
