In selection letter, It is mentioned that You have to undergo medical examination as per provision of the Westbengal Govt. My question is What type of Medical standard is required for recruitment in Westbengal as LDC. Specially What is the Vision std.? If anybody have the detail GO/Rule regarding Medical fitness test of Westbengal govt. for new appointment then please share..Thank you

I gone through the recruitment rules of clerical cadre in West Bengal:

But I could not find anything essential medical standard. I think a routine medical check up is necessary before entering into Govt. service. There is no requisite medical standard.

Medical test in this respect is merely a formality. You don’t need to worry. They just verify if you can hear, talk, see and write. You may face a little problem if the power of your spectacles is more than + or – 5. They test colour blindness as well. Although, colour blindness does not resist you from joining the service.

Thanks for sharing ur valuable views but I think in case of railway there are specific medical std. for different category of post. So it is easy for Doctor to declare somebody medical fit /unfit. In case of wb govt. if there is no specific medical standard then it will be hard for Doctor to certify somebody medically fit for specific that kind of post.
