Anyone having Degree in Engineering specially Civil or Mech/Elect is eligible to compete the Exam of PSC within the age bar .The No. of post is recruited by PSC every year is according to the vacancy generated and requirement of different directorate of WB Govt. .Working SAE’s having degree in Engineering can also apply through department for direct recruitment.
Othewise who are working as SAE in Govt.Directorate can also be promoted to the post of Assistant Engineer according to the rule of 60:40.i.e.60% will be inducted by direct recruitment through PSC and 40% will be promoted through the department from SAE to the post of Assistant Engineer according to the seniority among the working SAE’s.
