This department has been vested with the responsibility of maintaining and developing the health care system in W.B. Public health, sanitation and hospitals are the exclusive responsibilities of the State.
All the Health establishments are instructed to keep the health establishments neat and clean and the biomedical wastes generated should be removed scientifically.
All shops, commercial establishments, offices and factories, workshops, godowns etc shall close their operations. People are required to stay at home and come out only for basic services while strictly following social distancing guidelines issued earlier.
Leave of Medical & Paramedical personnel of Siliguri Sub-Division and Jalpaiguri District will be treated as cancelled with immediate effect.
Increasing access to and provision of quality service for Safe Abortion is part of Government of West Bengal’s maternal health strategy to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity in the state as unsafe abortion is still one of the leading causes of maternal mortality and morbidity.
At present there is no need to start separate influenza OPD for screening of patients. The screening is to be done at general OPD till further direction. Patient who need to undergo swab collection: Patient with high fever (101.4°) & severe sore throat. There may or may not be other associated symptoms like diarrhoea, vomiting, head ache, body ache etc.
