This department has been vested with the responsibility of maintaining and developing the health care system in W.B. Public health, sanitation and hospitals are the exclusive responsibilities of the State.
During the Population Stabilizing Fortnight i.e. from 11th July to 24th July, 2014, Family Health Mela may be organized in each district, one in each Parliamentary Constituency within the district as well as at Block headquarters.
As decided in the Orientation and Dissemination Workshop on FP 2020 held on 19.06.2014 at Gateway, the World Population Day, 2014 and Population Stabilization Fortnight, 2014 will be celebrated throughout the State.
Applications are invited from the B.Sc (Nursing) qualified personnel belong to Gr.I(ii) of W.B.N.S. Cadre for undergoing Nurse Practitioner in Midwifery (Post Basic Diploma) course for the academic session 2014.
Central Selection of House Staff for different hospitals will he held on 18th July, 2013 from the pass out M.B.B.S students (or equivalent) after completion of internship of different Medical Colleges of this state and others.
The nurse who has a regular job but in times of emergency of crisis such as accident, fire, flood or famine, which may occur at any time, performs in a heroic manner without regard to her/his own time, safety and/or possessions.
