Note 1: Executive Holidays on account of Netaji’s Birthday (January 23rd), Mahatma Gandhi’s Birthday (October 2nd) and Christmas Day (December 25th) fall on Sundays.
Note 2: Public Holidays on account of Second Day of Saraswati Puja (February 6th), May Day (May 1st) and Mahalaya (September 25th) fall on Sundays.
Note 3: Holidays on account of Muslim Festivals viz. Id-ul-Fitre, Id-uz-Zoha (Bakrid) and Muharram will be declared later on, depending on visibility of the moon.
Note 4: Sectional Holiday on account of Sab-E-Barat (March 19th) and Buddha Purnima (16th May) may also be granted, when possible, to the Muslim and Budhhist employees respectively.
Note 5: In accordance with Full Court resolution dated 6.8.1992 Second and Fourth Saturdays of the respective calendar month have been declared as Court Holidays.
Note 6: In accordance with the Full Court resolution dated 1.12.2015 in the event of High Court declares as unscheduled Holiday, The Hon’ble The Chief Justice may exercise discretion to declare any “Non-working Day” as “Working Day” upon 07 (seven) days’ notice, on consultation with Bar.
Note 7: Chief Judge, City Civil Court, Calcutta may be empowered to declare local Holidays not exceeding 2 (two) days in a year according to prevalent customs in consultation with the Judical Bar Association.
