NOTIFICATION

Attention: All Head of the Institutions and students under the purview of the Council

The undersigned is to notify the following points for the interest of the students under Old Syllabus (i.e. other than the Semester System).

  • The candidates (eligible as per regulations) who have passed Class XI Annual Examination under Old Syllabus but did not appear / succeed in the Test Examination / H.S. Examination so far, are permitted to pursue their studies under Semester System in Class XII afresh in the Academic Year: 2026-2027.
  • The intended candidates (eligible as per regulations) have to fill up an “Option Form” available on the Council Online Portal (https://wbchseapp.wb.gov.in/portal/dashboard_school) under the login of the concerned school from 01.04.2026 to 17.04.2026.
  • Once the Option Form is submitted and approved, the concerned student will be eligible for pursuing his / her study in Class XII under the syllabus & curriculum of Semester System as per W.B. Council of H.S. Education Regulations, 2024.
  • Such candidates will be eligible to fill up Enrolment Forms for Semester III and Semester IV of H.S. Examination as per norms and regulations, mentioned above.
  • The Project and Practical of such candidates for Class XII are to be taken under the syllabus and curriculum of Semester System afresh. Accordingly, marks are to be uploaded on the Council Online Portal as per notification.
  • At the time of filling up of Option Form, in some of the cases, the candidates may not be permitted to continue their studies with existing subject combination as per the registration certificate due to some technical issues. For those cases, either the candidates will choose another subject(s) from the concerned set of subjects, or they have to drop the subject(s) from the registration certificate. For all such cases, an undertaking must be submitted by the candidates to the respective Regional Offices of the Council in person.
  • The students, who like to continue their studies under the Old Annual System, do not require to fill up the Option Form. They will be given the chance to appear in H.S. Examination under Old Syllabus by filling up of Enrolment Form in due course of time.
  • The registered candidates (eligible as per regulations) who have not yet passed in Class XI under Old Syllabus, have to re-register with the Council mandatorily under Semester System. Their existing registration certificates have already been cancelled. The concerned schools need to contact the respective Regional Offices of the Council immediately in this respect.

All concerned are requested to note the above points and take necessary action accordingly.
