Recruitment Rules for Joint Registrar and Registrar under Consumer Affairs

NOTIFICATION

In exercise of power conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India and in supersession of this Department Notification No. 804-CA/DF/O/2R-1/16 dated 19.03.2018, the Governor is pleased hereby to make, with immediate effect, the following rules regulating the recruitment to the Group A posts of Joint Registrar, West Bengal State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and Registrar, District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission under the Consumer Affairs Department. Rules

The method of, and the qualifications required for, the recruitment to the Group A posts of Joint Registrar, West Bengal State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and Registrar, District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission under the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal, shall be as detailed below:-

(1) Method of recruitment:

(a) 50% of the posts by selection (direct recruitment) on the result of the West Bengal Civil Service (Executive) etc. Examination from Group C posts or services; and

(b) 50% of the posts by promotion, in consultation with the Public Service Commission, West Bengal, from the Common Gradation List (to be maintained by the Government) of Upper Division Clerk of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (DCDRC) in West Bengal and the West Bengal State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (WBSCDRC), having put in 5 years’ service in the feeder post of Upper Division Clerk;

(2) Qualifications and age for direct recruitment:

As prescribed from time to time for the West Bengal Civil Service (Executive) etc. Examination for Group C Services and posts.

Note- The posts of Joint Registrar, West Bengal State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and Registrar, District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission are transferable within West Bengal State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in West Bengal.
