West Bengal Government Notification related to Government Holidays, Public Holidays, Holidays under Negotiable Instruments Act (N.I. Act) etc.

  • Holiday List for West Bengal Govt. Employees, 2014

    In exercise of the power conferred by the explanation to Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881(XXVI of 1881), the Governor is pleased to declare the following days to be public holidays during the year 2014.

  • Holidays in Schools for Panchayat General Election, 2013

    Governor is pleased to declare P-1 and/or P-2 days and P+1 day as required as holidays in schools of West Bengal for the Panchayat General Elections 2013. Respective District Magistrate and District Panchayat Election Officer will issue necessary orders for schools within his/her jurisdiction immediately.

  • Date of Superannuation Falls on Holiday

    Handing over the charge by an officer whose actual date of superannuation happens to be a holiday but where handing over charge of cash/ stores is involved.

  • Exclusion of 30 September, 2013 from Holiday List

    Governor is pleased to exclude the 30th September, 2013, Monday which was earlier declared as Public Holiday on account of Half-yearly closing of Bank Account under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.

  • Annual Academic Calender for Secondary Schools, 2013

    The Annual Academic Calendar is spread over in the following stages: Total Hours: 10-40 hrs. to 16-30 hrs. = 5 hrs. 50 Minutes. 1000 Hours Teaching -Learning Hours in a year – As per RTE, Teaching-Learning hours = 5 Hours.

  • Durga Puja Holidays in West Bengal, 2012

    Governor is pleased to declare October 26, 2012 as a public holiday in connection with Durga Puja festival for the employees employed in the offices under the Govt. of West Bengal, including all Statutory Bodies, Undertakings, Corporations, Local Bodies and Educational Institutions etc.
