Schedule of General Election to West Bengal Legislative Assembly, 2021

All Government Offices, Organizations under it, Undertakings, Corporations, Boards, Statutory and Local Bodies, Educational Institutions etc. situated within the Assembly Constituency will remain closed on the respective dates so that every employee is able to exercise his/her right to franchise in the election.

Pranab Mukherjee passed away – State Govt. declared Holiday

As a mark of respect to the departed soul of the former President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, a glorious son of Bengal, all State Government offices, Urban and Rural Bodies, Corporations, Undertakings, Educational institutions and other offices/ institutions under the control of the Government of West Bengal shall be closed tomorrow the 1st September, 2020.

Sectional Holiday on account of Karam Puja, 2020

Governor is pleased to declare 29th August (Saturday), 2020 as a Sectional Holiday on occasion of KARAM PUJA for the employees belonging to Tribal Communities employed in State Govt. Offices all over the State.

Half Day Holiday due to sad demise of Shri Abani Mohan Joardar

Due to sad demise of Shri Abani Mohan Joardar, former Minister, Government of West Bengal, Offices will be closed for the 2nd half of the day today i.e. 12th June, 2020 to enable everyone to pay homage and respect to the departed soul of the former Minister.

General Holiday on account of Chhat Puja, 2019

CHHAT PUJA will be celebrated this year (2019) on 2nd November and 3rd November, which fall on Saturday and Sunday respectively. In view of this 4th November (Monday), 2019 is declared as a General Holiday in West Bengal.

Half Holiday on account of Viswakarma Puja, 2019

On occasion of VISWAKARMA PUJA which falls on 18th September (Wednesday), 2019, the Governor has been pleased to declare that all State Government offices shall be closed at 2:00 P.M on that day.
