Official Language

Official language refers to the language(s) designated by a government for conducting official business, communication, and documentation. In India, for example, Hindi and English are recognized as official languages at the national level, while each state can also have its own official language(s) for local governance.

Compulsory Use of Bengali Language in State Administration

All government entities, including police and law enforcement agencies, must utilize Bengali for public communications, notices, applications, and grievance redressals.
