Pet coke (short for petroleum coke) is a byproduct of the petroleum refining process. It is a carbon-rich material used primarily as a fuel in industries like cement manufacturing and power generation. While it is an inexpensive energy source, pet coke is controversial due to its high carbon emissions and environmental impact.
