University Act
University Act are framed for certain matters incidental thereto and connected therewith e.g. powers and duties of Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Finance Officer and others.
Applicability of the provisions of the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standard and Procedure for award of M. Phil/ Ph. D Degree) Regulations, 2016.

Governor has been pleased to accord approval to the conversion of the Institute of Jute Technology to Technology Department of the Calcutta University.
Without prejudice to the powers conferred by section 10 of the Act, the Visitor can through its Secretariat, summons any employee including the Chancellor of the University for the purpose of any enquiry or investigation.
