Vote on Account

Vote on Account is a temporary financial arrangement in a parliamentary system where the government seeks approval from the legislature to meet its expenditure needs for a short period, typically until the full budget is passed. It ensures continuity of government operations.

Allotment of Fund for 2016-2017 (Vote-on-Account)

Administrative Departments may make allotment of fund relating to Non-Plan expenditure for Salary Items and Non-Salary Items up to 33% of the whole year’s budget provision.

Allotment of Fund for 2015-2016 (Vote-on-Account)

Authority may make allotment of fund relating to Non-Plan expenditure for Salary Items and Non-Salary Items up to 33% of the whole year’s budget provision.

Memorandum for Vote on Account Budget 2013-2014

The Administrative Departments/ Controlling Authorities may now make allotment of fund relating to Non-Plan expenditure for Salary Items upto 33% and Non-Salary Items upto 25% of the whole year’s budget provision.

Allotment Order on Passing of Vote-on-Account Budget

All Departments should immediately issue orders of allotment to their subordinate offices. It may be noted that no bill will be passed by the Treasury without an allotment order.
