World Food Day
World Food Day (Oct 16) marks the founding of the FAO in 1945. It raises awareness of global hunger, promotes food security, and advocates for sustainable agriculture to ensure nutritious food for all.

Observance of World Food Day (16th October, 2014)
Food & Supplies Department will provide rice (@ of 5 kg per month), wheat/atta (@ 2.5 Kg per month), musur dal (@ of 1 Kg per month) and Bengal gram (@ of 1 kg per month) free of cost to each such mother and child.
