Hi, how is bonus entitle calculated?
September 7, 2012 at 5:28 pm #74010AnonymousInactiveWho will received BONUS!
1) Bonus will be calculated between 1st April to 31st March.
2) The incumbent must complete minimum 6 (six) month of service without EOL. If the EOL is taken by the incumbent more than 15 days, in this case 1(one) month will be counted. Again if an incumbent enjoy 76 days =2 months 16 days of EOL, then 3 months will be deducted.
3) In case of newly appointed, the incumbent will have to join before 15 th day of October.
4) In the case of suspended incumbent, bonus is not granted.
5) In the case of transfer, if the service continuation maintained then bonus is availed from his/her new school.( Counting two school’s service)
6)In this year, whose salary i.e. the BASIC PAY (PAY BAND+GRADE PAY) +D.A.= below or equal of the amount Rs. 22000/-on 31st March, they all will avail their Bonus.

Thank you.If i am not mistaken, if Basic pay + DA below or equal Rs. 22000 for six months of that year the employee concerned is eligible for bonus.

September 21, 2012 at 2:40 am #74301AnonymousInactiveMOST URGENT: Whether an employee entitled for Bonus in the given case? Please clarify the following case-
An employee under any category (though in this case Group-D) had died prematurely of his/her service during a particular financial year after his/her successful service more than 6 months. Example: An employee had died on 10th November 2011.
-Jaymangal Misir, Raiganj.September 21, 2012 at 3:44 am #74302AnonymousInactiveThe calculation should be on pro-rata basis. You may have a look at the para iii and iv of the latest G.O. available in the link below. https://wbxpress.com/grant-of-ad-hoc-bon … r-2011-12/
September 21, 2012 at 4:54 am #74304AnonymousInactiveDear som,
I feel sorry to cntradict to your conclusion on the grant of pro rata basis bonus in favour of an employee who died on the 10th Nov.,2011 after serving for more than 6 months.
When an employee is not in service as on the 31st March of the relevant F.Y. his name is not considered for Ad hoc bonus. Pls see the relevant para of the G.O. 6732-F(P) dated 03.08.2012:
“iii. The employees who were in service on 31.03.2012 and rendered at least six months continuous service during the year 2011-2012 will be eligible for payment of ad-hoc bonus under this order.
Pro-rata payment will be admissible in such cases to the eligible employees for periods of continuous service during the year ranging from six months to full year, the eligibility period being taken in terms of number of months of service (rounded of to the nearest number of months). A fraction of 15 days or more should be counted as one month.
iv. The amount of ad-hoc bonus on pro-rata payment as admissible under 2(iii) above will have to be calculated according to the following formula
Emoluments as on 31st March, 2012.X Eligibility period in number of months / 12 = The amount of ad-hoc bonus, subject to maximum amount of Rs. 2,500/-“
Again think of the point – what is his emoluments as on the 31st March,2012 for calculation of bonus if he died on the 10th Nov. 2011 ?
In the light of above govt. decision contained in the G.O. the name of the employee who expired on the 10th Nov.,2011 after serving for more than 6 months in F.Y. 2011-12 can’t be taken into consideration for bonus!September 21, 2012 at 8:52 am #74309AnonymousInactiveI have seen many of the govt. employees with higher salary get bonus but, there are some govt. employees who get less salaries, do not get bonus! How is it possible? Members pls help!
September 21, 2012 at 9:21 am #74311AnonymousInactiveFirstly, Huge thanks to Mr Somnath Das & Dr. N. Majumdar for their excellent suggestion. I think any contradiction on any matter will fix its actuality.
Now further a question arisen- A Group D employee of Additional District Sub-Registrar, Raiganj had died on 31st October 2011 under Finance (Revenue) Department, Government of West Bengal. No PPO has been allotted till the date (21st September 2012), No death benefits allotted other than Leave salary on behalf of the deceased. I have seen the necessary orders as well as your valuable discussion in the matter of entitlement of Bonus. But it is not clear who will pay the amount of ex-gratia (Rs. 900/-) to the family member(s) of the deceased. Kindly suggest me, who will pay the amount of Rs. 900/-, head of the office, treasury or any other in this case. I request to all the members of this forum to post your valuable comments for this case.
-Jaymangal Misir, Raiganj.September 21, 2012 at 11:30 am #74312AnonymousInactive@d_polo:Thank you so much for the correction. I am extremly sorry for the wrong post. @J.Misir: The matter of payment of Ex-gratia will be delt by the Treasury.
