I am central Government Employee (Autonomous Body) joined in feb, 2006. As per GOI rule NPS (New Pension Scheme) is mandatory for those employees who have joined on or after 01.01.2004. But my office contribute our equal share (i.e.12%) in EPF (Employee’s provident fund) from 01.02.2006 to 31.03.2012. from 01.04.2012 office contribute equal share (i.e.10%) in NPS. Now NPS is asking for the contribution from Date of Joining (i.e. 10% + 10%).
My office says, as per NPS rule only 10% contribution is mandatory hence, as office contribute 12% in EPF from Date of Joining we have to refund 2% amount from our EPF share to office with Interest. In this connection we have asked for PF department regarding the refund they said their is no such rule.
I request you, pls help us in this regards, where we can get rule provision.?
