Doctors do not advise to take maternity leave mentioning specific date. He only suggests/ advises complete rest mentioning the probable date of delivery of the baby. So if her baby is going to born someday in November, she may obtain a certificate from her doctor with such advice/ suggestion during the vacation and she may take her maternity from the date of opening the school by informing the authority by messenger with an application and a copy of that certificate.
Mr. Roy is absolutely right. If you had attended school on the last day before the vacation started, the vacation period won’t be included in your maternity leave.
Maternity Leave starts on the production of Medical Certificate. If the baby is borne between the vacation ,say 25/10/14, then your 180 days will start from 25/10/14. Either from date of birth of the child or Doctor’s advice about taking Maternity Leave (mentioning the date), the maternity leave will start. If someone send an application on and from 27/10/14 to take such leave by a messenger, then she is absent for this date. “Why”, normally this question will be arise. Either she is unable to attain school for her illness or already the child has taken birth (between the vacation). So, Maternity Leave will starts according to Doctors Certificate.
Thanks a lot.
