    A employee working in Govt. of India, can entitle for GPF subscription?

    At first I welcome you to this forum. We are happy to have you as a member of our community. As far as I know EPF= Employees provident fund for private sectors where 12% of basic and D.A. deducted towards the fund. GPF= General provident Fund for Govt employees where minimum subscription is 6% of Basic pay and maximum is equal to the amount of basic pay. Sorry I have on idea about the series number.

    Following is a general format of EPF account.
    State Code – City Code – Establishment Code – Extension of Establishment if any – Account Number
    e.g.
    A typical example:
    WB-DGP-42591-01-1234567

    How to get series number for GPF account? any one pls tell me. i m working in higher education department in maharashtra. i visited most sites of higher education department.
