I am lucky to be your best friend for which I xpress my gratitude to the almighty. I always remember and abide by the words “Simple living and high thinking” which I also find in you and some of my dear friends here. I am again sorry for the off topic discussion but could not hold my tongue being emotional. I think we should all try to adopt the thought of the great “Mahatma” and look the world from some different angle. Then we should see all the hateful things converted into love. So lets put our hands together to build this community an unique place of friendship. Tender my sincer love and take very good care.
April 10, 2012 at 9:24 am #71937AnonymousInactive@Shantanil:sorry for being late. I agree with you and well understand your emotion, and also I know your posting was not biased. But any post against a minister may be unhealthy for our forum. Let’s criticise the policy not policy-maker as person.
@Kaushik:at present situation I don’t think state can’t deny central law and cm has not till clear her stand let’s wait
@Som:experiment is no doubt important but for think about the guinipigs also. The proposed schooltime will affect our teaches, student, education.April 10, 2012 at 11:28 am #71942AnonymousInactive@B.Roy: Actually I was missing you bro. One more request to you please dont use all lower case. Write normal sentence. If you want a quick solution of your upper and lower case I shall post a trick to easily convert the case in the “technical support” segment.
Now came to the point: Change is the nature of life and we are bound to accept that. Its is the fact that We are all guiny- pigs of the “Tughlaki Raaj” and waiting for “The Great Akbar”. Now I am looking to the moon.April 10, 2012 at 5:59 pm #71953AnonymousInactive@Everyone
No issues. I guess this is a free forum where everyone can express their views freely. Personally, my thinking regarding the duration of instructional and teaching preparation hours is pretty jumbled up. The reason for this lies primarily in the fact that this whole issue of teaching preparation hours seems absurd to me with the kind of infrastructure that most schools or madrasahs in West Bengal posess. The first thing that comes to my mind as far as teaching preparation is concerned, is accessibility to good quality books which, automatically transforms into a requirement for a good library. How many schools in Bengal can claim to have a well equipped library library, especially for teachers?
Secondly if preparation is to be made for practical teaching or if extensive use of models or props are to be made, then one needs to have a very well equipped lab. Again the same question of having a good quality lab arises and again, the same answer of unavailability presents itself. Even if preparations are to be made using computers, do all schools have a computer lab that teachers have access to? So I am really unable to understand, what the meaning of teaching preparation hours is and how the extra time is to be utilised by the teachers. If the teaching preparation hours involve the preparation of cooking of midday meals, even then it cannot to categorised into teaching preparation category. So I have no idea, what all this fuss about teaching preparation is. Any ideas?
As far as the effects of such hours are concerned, I think most teachers will have very little time for personal work or very little time to spend with the family, if he/she has to work from 9.00 a.m. to 5 p.m. One positive side, however will be that very few teachers will have time for private tuitions, which may prove beneficial in the long run.
Let us now wait for the final order and see how it shapes up. I have heard that it would not be implemented in 2012 but might be, from the second half of 2013. Till that time, keepin’ my fingers crossed.April 10, 2012 at 7:53 pm #71955AnonymousInactiveThanks for the elaborate discussion Shantanil. I like your positive thinking. It seems to me you felt it from heart and I do agree with you. It will unnecessarily creat some obstructions and also be the matter of emotional torture.
