It is only applicable for the non-Bengalees who actually performs this puja traditionally and employed in State Government Offices, Local bodies, Statutory bodies, Board, Corporations and Undertakings controlled or owned by the State Government Educational Institutions etc. all over the State.

Many Schools will start examination from Monday 19/11/12, then what will be the nature of the Schools from examination’s points of view?November 16, 2012 at 3:17 pm #75456AnonymousInactiveRe: CHHAT PUJA on 19th November

If many of the teachers come under this Sectional Holiday benefit because of being non-Bengalees from Bihar/Jharkhand then there may be problem. If many of the students come under this benefit there may be problem. But, I know a hindi medium H.S. school under Bengal Board, which includes Chhath Puja in its approved list of 65 holidays every year. So, it’s not a problem for the H.M. to manage. It is pre-planned as most of the teachers and students (from Bihar & UP) are entitled to enjoyment of Chhath Puja.

Now the matter is clear thanks to all.November 18, 2012 at 3:12 am #75377AnonymousInactiveRe: CHHAT PUJA on 19th November
But in Burdwan few ‘Bihari’ students are there. Normally they does not go to School in Chhat Puja, but if examination will fall on that day, they are bound to go School. Now a day, since Sectional Holiday is declared and if the ‘Bihari’ student does not attain examination on this Monday and claimed (Guardian) for Re-examination, then what happens.
Please don’t think that, this thinking is imaginary.November 18, 2012 at 3:37 am #75382AnonymousInactiveRe: CHHAT PUJA on 19th November
Dear Ram Prasadbabu,
Thank you for drawing our attention to a practical problem. I agree with you. The Bihari students who are FEW in number can legitimately deny to go to school on the day of Chhath Puja because all of us know that they traditionally observe this festival which is exclusively for them. Now, HM has to tackle the situation. It is not wise to include Chhath Puja in the approved holiday list merely in the interest of FEW Bihari students. If there is no other restriction it is better to change the date of exam. from next year onwards and, make proper planning. All of us learn from experience.
With regards.November 18, 2012 at 3:41 am #75384AnonymousInactiveRe: CHHAT PUJA on 19th November
Now I am 100% agree with you Mr. Majumdar, thanks a lot. -
