It may not be granted in more than 3 spells in a calendar year.
It may not be granted for less than 15 days in a spell.
It may be extended upto maximum period of 60 days in a spell.
In exceptional circumstances the leave sanctioning authority may extend such leave upto 120 days in a spell.
