Since ODL mode for D.Ed. is available, the in-service teachers can pursue the course through this mode without having deputation like secondary/ H.S. teachers. There are many advantages and State Govt. is encouraging for ODL method for in-service teachers – M.C. & D.I. have no obligation for sanction of deputation, school classes shall not be hampered due to shortage of teachers, teachers can study D.Ed/ B.Ed. without taking study leave and hampering regular classes, a large number of teachers can take study in ODL mode irrespective of number of vacancies available in the B.Ed./D.Ed. institutes, making room for fresh candidates who may get opportunity for study in regular course in those institutes and complete course in similar time – double benefit for the govt.

    Re: Advertisement of Primary Teachers

In the advertisement of primary teachers, it is mentioned that candidates will have to submit the form in the same bank from which it is collected. But if a candidate is applying from other district(not own district)then whether he will have to take the form from the same other district or from his own district.

Suppose you live at South 24 Pgs and like to apply for Birbhum district, then you have to submit form at Birbhum district after getting the form from the same district.

@polo: The ODL mode D.Ed was not available in west Bengal earlier. Now only govt. has initiated the process for D.Ed through ODL mode. However, D.Ed(special education) is still to be popular. But your point is completely correct. Initiative should have been taken from govt. part earlier.
D.El.Ed is available in ignou for in-service teachers since 2011 for details see http://www.ignou.ac.in/ignou/aboutignou/school/soe/programmes/detail/585/2
