InactiveHi friends, after my hard work for a long time , i have developed a salary programme in excel for all the govt. Employees of west bengal. Its name is sss(400), means simple salary solution and it can prepare salary bill for 400 employees. Many departments may use it and find it very simple to use. Before wide publication of this utility, i would like to have some review/observations of the members of this community. As such, i am to request all of you, please check it and let me know how do you feel about it and your suggestions too. Thanks in advance.

After having feedbacks from various ends and special one from d.Roy, the final version is published on 09-03-2012. Though the govt. Of west bengal making mandatory to use cosa, this tool may be a good lesson for the learner of spreadsheet. It has many features which may be observed while using it. As example, it will always open from the instruction sheet, no matter where you closed it.

Please look into the following points, which I think need to be work upon w. r. t. Salary Bill:
1. If GPF subscription is Rs. 10000 or more, it is not showing in the data input sheet . Please increase the column width.
2. If HB Loan taken is more than 2 times, it can’t be entered. Actually, We have one employee having 4 different HB Loan.
3. Schedule of Rent receipt is different for different housing scheme.Please see the COSA schedules.
4. In case of WB Govt. employees, there are different prefixes for GPF No. like..DIRECTT/PWR/…, EEHDD-1/…, BPC/…,specially for Group-D.
5. Disbursement certificate should have IFS Code , if salary A/C Bank of the employee is other than SBI.
6. Statement of staff strength need to be included.

Thanks a lot Mr.Roy for you valuable suggestions and observations. Wish I could contact you before initiation of the utility because some characters are not changeable now like numbers of House Building Loans and schedule of House Rent. The prefix of G.P.F. is changeable in General Data. I think the schedule of G.P.F. other than group D may be allowed in T.R. Form 47 and separation of group A,B,C is not mandatory. You may put the I.F.S code in within braket beside Bank account number in the Personal Data. It will show in Advice slip. I shall solve the other issues.
