We can hope that Govt. of WB will consider the admissibility of Paternity Leave to its employees in future! As far as I know, the States like Orissa, Tripura, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Hariyana etc. have already started granting Paternity Leave to their employees. Duration of the leave varies from state to state. For example, it is 7 days in Tripura, 15 days in Orissa & Andhra Pradesh, 10 days in Kerala. Hariyana happens to be the first ever Sate which also sanctions Paternity Leave on child adoption by a male employee!
For the Central Govt. Employees, Paternity Leave is granted for 15 days during the confinement of wife of a male employee for childbirth, i.e. up to 15 days before, or up to six months from the date of delivery of child.
