I have 14 years of service in state government Kerala in a technical post of gazetted rank. Afterwards I joined as Assistant Professor in State Government service (Collegiate Education Department) through separate State PSC recruitment. Since I have Ph.D. degree I got 5 additional increment from the beginning. Moreover, I am in continuing service counting my pensionary benifits including GPF and others. But, since the last pay I received in the previous service is higher than the pay I receive in the Asst. Professor cadre, I am not getting any pay protection. I want to know, whether I am eligible for any pay protection?

You are eligible for pay protection. the pay drawn by you on the date of relieve from state govt. service will be treated as the initial pay in the post of Asst. Prof. Thus your pay would remain protected. Pl give the details like your last pay as a gazetted officer, your initial pay fixed for the post of Asst. Prof., calculation of Ph.D. increments, and pay received by you in collegiate education deptt. after getting benefit of Ph.D. degree.
