If I suffer from chicken pox can I avail 21 days quarantine leave on submission of medical certificate. I am a teacher in a govt. aided high school. Is this leave depend on H.M’s permission or it is my right?

Quarantine leave is not applicable for Chicken Pox. It is applicable for small pox but small pox is not in existence now a days.

    Re: quarentine leave
No, you are not supposed to get Quarantine Leave for having chicken pox. These are the diseases for which Q.L. is to be sanctioned.
    (i) Scarlet Fever,
    (ii) Plague (Bueekmonic or bubonic),
    (iii) Typhus,
    (iv) Cerebro-spinal meningitis
There is, however a provision that in case of chicken pox, if the Medical Officer or Public Health Officer considers because of doubt as to the true nature of the disease, e.g., small-pox, there is reason for the grant of such leave, it may be granted. But as ‘small pox’ has been officially out-rooted, the provision has lost its requirement.
