Sir,
So far as I know, Employees are contribute their G.P.F. account at the same rate during the financial year i.e. March to February @ minimum 6% of Basic Pay.They may be rise their contribution from the beginning of the F.Y. i.e. from the month of march.
But whose contribution at the minimum rate, as per ROPA ’09 their Periodical increment falls on July. naturally their G.P.F. contribution rise on July if they contribute at the minimum rate.
That is why I am unable to calculate any G.P.F. account with the help of G.P.F. Calculator Software . Is the above noted procedure is wrong? I am confused. Please help me about this subject. Thanks all.February 8, 2012 at 5:54 pm #71346AnonymousInactiveSir, I must appreciate your way of thinking, this thing actually never came into my mind.
However you have raised a very valid point regarding the Rate of Subscription of G.P. Fund. After going through the Management of General Provident Fund Accounts, I found that rule 10. a) & d) ii) both should be taken into consideration. (Complete G.O. https://wbxpress.com/topic/ddo-for-school-teachers/
Rule 10. a) says that minimum subscription should be 6% of pay as on 31st March. So, someone may subscribe only this amount towards G.P.Fund. You can not stop him.
Rule 10. c) says that subscription may be increased or reduced in the month of March each year.
Now, as you said, that, after getting an increment in July, the subscription is falling below the prescribed rate. Then what?
Then, as per rule 10.d) rate of subscription shall remain unchanged through out the year except it do not fall below 6% of pay. It means for the case as cited above, the subscription may be changed during the month of July. I don’t find any violation of rules. Don’t you agree?
N.B: To avoid the hazards of changing the rate of subscription during the month other than March, it is suggested to consider the pay hike in July and subscribe accordingly.February 9, 2012 at 3:13 am #71349AnonymousInactiveSir,
Thank you for your suggestion. Now I request to our friend Mr. Somenath Das & others for posting here one G.P.F calculator Software which will be solved my above noted problems. Thanks again.February 9, 2012 at 4:41 am #71350AnonymousInactiveYou guys think so much and I do agree that there are some lack of settings between the ROPA Rules, 09 and Provident Fund Rules. Actually the P.F. Rules was introduced far before and the subject matter should be considered in Ropa 2009. If the month of annual increment be made in March every year, all the terms and conditions would be met up. Anyway, I shall try to modify the P.F. Calculator as per requirement. But I would like to suggest that the subscription should be changed from the month of March only considering the next increment. Any change in the middle might be worse due to violation of the rules. After all it will keep away all the hazards.
