    Dear all,
I would like to share an incident with all of you. Some of my neighbors (45 to 55 years aged women) are working in a health project, “Urban Primary Health Care Service”, as a social worker. Present remuneration for this service is Rs. 2,500/- (duty time 10AM to 2 PM). They are serving from last fifteen years.
Previously they were posted locally (10 to 15 minutes walking distance from home). But suddenly some of them have been transferred (by the Member in Council, Durgapur Municipal Corporation, Durgapur) to a location which is around 7KM-10KM from their home. The transfer order has been given verbally and without any clarification. But the previous post is kept vacant.
Bus fair to reach the new health center is above Rs-24/ (per day) in addition a walking distance of about 3KM. In addition to their duty hours, around 2 -3 hours journey is required to reach the new health center. Thus it is creating physical and mental pressure to them. As their family condition is not so good and it is their only source of income, they cannot quit the job. So it is very much difficult for them to survive with this money.
First of all I would like to know that this type of transfer is legal or not under this type of project. Please suggest them a suitable way, such that they can serve happily.
    Thanking you.
