Dear friends,
As you know govt has extended sasthyasathi scheme for teachers and non-teaching staff as well. It could be a scheme. But to enrole in this scheme an employee need to forgo his/her medical allowance. Look at this notice http://wbfin.nic.in/writereaddata/5594-F(P).pdf see point no 3. (May have been changed today)
But according to the original scheme govt pays the total premium not the members but now it changes for the teachers and non-teaching staff. Look at the attached file.
Now an employee has to pay Rs. 300 X 12= Rs. 3600 but the premium for this scheme ranges from Rs 3549 in kolkata to Rs 1729 in dakshin Dinajpur. So is it not cheating with the employee? Why WB health scheme is not granted when the Medical allowance is deducted?
However the scheme may be helpful for unknown/ sudden health hazards.
But there should be protest for rectification of the scheme.
Hoping to get your opinion and also a discussion on the difference between the the sasthyasathi scheme and the WB health scheme.
