    I am an U.D.C. working in the directorate of West Bengal. There is no post of accountant in our office. Now because of my seniority I was assigned with post of “accountant” which is not there. Now the question is can I claim for any benefit of the post of “accountant”? Whether my office can force me to act as accountant with giving me financial benefit? I have heard that in some deptt. there is a post of “accountant” and the person who is assigned with that post gets the scale of scale no. 10 (pre-revised). Whether I can place my prayer before my office to write to the Finance deptt. for creation of the post of accountant so I can get the benefit of the scale?
    Kindly reply. It is urgent.

    Scale of Accountant
    Dear friends,
    Kindly have your valuable comment over the topic because I need your opnion to move or make representation before the Authority over the matter.
    I also give some information regarding my service which is as follows:-) I am UDC working in the Directorate of Govt. Of West Bengal .There is no existing post of Accountant in our office. But my office assigned me the post of Accountant. Presntly, I am working as an ACCOUNTANT without any extra financial benefit. If you put your valuable opnion then I shall modify my prayer to the appropriate authority.

    Do your office assigned additional responsibility of Accountant by an Office Order?
    Please also mention your service length in detail.

    There is no harm if you represent to your office. However, it would be a better approach if you collect the documentary evidences of similar cases and enclose them with your prayer before its onward transmission to the higher authority!

    My office assigned me the post by office order.
    I have joined my office as LDC on 29.03.1990 and promoted to the post of UDC on 01.02.05. My age of retirement is on 31.01.28

    But if there is no sanctioned post in your office, how can it assign the post to you through Office Order? What did the order say actually?

    I fully agree with Mr. Ray. First, the post be sanctioned, and then the official/officer be appointed to the sanctioned post. Kindly upload the Office Order issued to you, If convenient.
