    Sir,
Whether is it a bounden duty of Asstt. Headmaster to act as T-I-C of a school in the event of HM’s resignation/retirement ? If so, please mention the circular in this regard.

Headmaster is appointed by the recommendation of School Service Commission. Asst. Headmaster is appointed by the MC according to the roll strength of the school (minimum 750 for High, and 1000 for HS for last three years) and with the permission of DSE. The duty of an asst.headmaster to assist the Headmaster. If there is neither an HM nor an AHM of a school then the question arises to the appointment of a TIC. TIC is also appointed by the MC . When the HM is joined then the post of TIC is deleted by automatically. But the post of AHM is remained exist. So the duties of an AHM is explained by itself. Again to fill up the vacancy of an AHM the notice is issued by the HM/TIC. But no where the notice is issued to appoint a TIC by the AHM/HM. So I think that the AHM will execute the duties of HM/TIC until the joining of the HM of the school for the smooth sailing of the activities of the school.
