A friend of mine is a State Govt employee of West Bengal. After completing 17 years 1 month of continuous service he availed 2 years EOL with Govt order under rule 175 (a), to pursue higher studies (pl. note it is not study leave). After that he prayed for 9 months extension of EOL under rule 34 to complete the course, which was rejected by Govt., the order reached office after 9 months itself. So he joined office on knowing after 9 months itself. So total service now including 2 years Govt sanctioned EOL and 9 months non-sanctioned EOL, is 19 years 10 months. When is he eligible for VRS benefits ? May pl inform if anyone can
