What is the salary contribution of a Govt.of W.B. employee? I mean to say, who pay the salary of a state Govt. employee (W.B.), Govt. of India or Govt. of W.B?

Pay & allowances of employees of WB govt. is debited to the consolidated fund of the state govt. Central assistance is also available to the states. As far as I know a major part of expenditure for payment of DA is borne by the central govt. 50% of the additional expenditure incurred for revision of pay of state employees under ROPA,2009 is contributed by the central govt. 80% of the additional expenditure incurred for revision of pay of university and college teachers of the states is to be borne by the centre.

Very informative. If Central Govt. can contribute for the teachers of aided/sponsored Universities and Colleges, what’s wrong with the school teachers!

Salaries of teacher working in aided Universities/Colleges are borne by the state govt. much like aided school teachers. UGC bears respnosibility of pay & allowances of University teachers only for first 4 years (!) of their service. Pay & allowances of teachers of aided/sponsored schools are shared by the Central Govt. with the State Govt. during tenure period of a govt. scheme under which a new school is established. Teachers may have better knowledge than me in this matter.
