In exercise of power conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 9 and clause (a) of sub-section (2) of Section 9 of Jadavpur University Act, 1981, as amended by the West Bengal University Laws (Amendment) Act, 2011, (West Bengal Act XII of 2011) and West Bengal University Laws (Amendment) Act, 2012, (West Bengal Act XXX of 2012) the Hon’ble Chancellor, Jadavpur University, has been pleased to appoint Professor Abhijit Chakrabarti, Prof. of Electrical Engineering, Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur, Howrah presently known as IIEST and the interim Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University as the Vice Chancellor of Jadavpur University for a term of four years with effect from his date of joining or till he attains the age of sixty-five years or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.
