NOTIFICATION
Whereas Prof. Samita Manna was appointed as the first Vice Chancellor of Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University on 06.04.2012 (forenoon) as per provision under clause (a) of subsection (4) of Section 58 of the Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University Act, 2010 (West Bengal Act XII of 2010), as amended by the West Bengal University Laws (Amendment) Act, 2011 and West Bengal University Laws (Amendment) Act, 2012, for a period of one year; and,
Whereas, the said term of Prof. Manna expired On 05.04.2013; and
Whereas her term was extended under Section 58(4) (a) of the aforesaid Act by the State Government for a period of not more than one and a half years with effect from 06-04-2013; and,
Whereas the said extended term of Prof. Manna is going to expire on 05.10.2014; and,
Whereas the term of Professor Manna was further extended for six month vide this Department’s notification no. 895-Edn(U)/1G-18/10 dated 22.08.2014; and,
Now, in cancellation of the said notification no. 895-Edn(U)/1G-18/10 dated, 22.08.2014, the Hon’ble Chancellor, in exercise of the power conferred under Section 58(4)(a) of the Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University Act, 2010 is pleased to appoint, in consultation with the Minister-in-Charge, Higher Education Department, Dr. Dipak Ranjan Mondal, Director of Public Instruction, Government of West Bengal, as the First Vice-Chancellor of the Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University for a period of six months from the date of his assuming charges or until such time a Vice Chancellor is appointed or he attains the age of sixty five years or until further orders whichever is the earliest.
