Sub: Advisory on Fresh Direct Recruitment to Sanctioned and Vacant Teaching Posts
Madam/ Sir,
Kindly recall that the State Government has been reminding the State-aided Universities to take time-bound steps to fill up sanctioned, vacant teaching posts so as to improve the quality of teaching on our campuses.
In this connection, I am directed to draw your kind attention to the University Grants Commission (Minimum Qualification for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education) (Fourth Amendment) Regulations, 2016 notified in the official Gazette on 11/7/2016 (read with Notification no. F.1-2/2016(PS) dated 10/1/2017) which, inter alia, specify the revised API and other parameters for fresh direct recruitment of teachers.
The State Government is in the process of bringing out matching orders adopting the UGC Regulations, 2016. Hence, it is advised that any fresh advertisements for direct recruitment of teaching staff be made on the basis of the UGC Regulations 2016.
Yours faithfully,
Sd/- Joint Secretary
