Sub: Cent percent enrolment under “Sikshashree” scholarship for SC/ST students studying in class V to VIII for the year 2014-15.
This is to inform you that the Govt. of West Bengal has introduced a new scheme namely “Sikshashree” scholarship for SC/ST students studying in classes V to VIII. The scheme guideline in detail is attached herewith.
Students who are Day-Scholars of classes V to VIII will get this facility through online. All the schools are requested to take the responsibility of Data Entry Work of each beneficiary in detail. And after completion of the data entry work, the hard copy of the compilation sheet for the year 2014-15 for their respective school is required to be send to either S.D.O. office in case of municipal area or B.D.O., office in case of rural area through the institution where it is located. At the BDO level the verification of the applications will be done online on the basis of compilation sheets submitted by the schools. After necessary verification the list will come to D.W.O., Nadia for grant of Scholarship. The entire process will be done online and the website is www.bcwnadia.in. Here the bank account of the student is mandatory for awarding scholarships.
It has been announced by the Government that New Registration for “Sikshashree” scholarship for year 2014-15 will close on 15.09.2014. So the online registration will start from 1.08.2014 and the process of data entry shall be completed within 15.09.2014. It must be ensured that all hard copy of the application for new registration under the scheme shall be retained by the Head of the Institution. And the hard copy of the compilation sheet shall reach the respective SDO/BDO, offices within 30.09.2014.
In the context, District Inspector of Schools (Secondary), Nadia is requested to instruct all A.I’s/S.I’s of School Education Department posted in this District to gear up the programme so that all eligible SC/ST students of classes V to VIII are enrolled for this scheme within the stipulated time.
A certificate is to be issued by all the Head of the Institutions to this effect that all the eligible students of his/her school for the year 2014-15 are not left out in Awardee-list. Such certificate is to be submitted to the District Inspector of Schools (Secondary). After obtaining the same the D.I. of Schools (Secondary) will submit a certificate in this regard for the entire district. Such certificate shall reach my office on or before 1st October, 2014.
