Setting up of Control Room for upcoming Super Cyclone YASH

ORDER

A severe super cyclone, ‘YASH’ is likely to hit several Districts of South Bengal zone including the coastal areas and the Sundarbans with in an expected period from 25.05.2021 to 28.05.2021 as per alert report from Meteorological Department.

The West Bengal Districts likely to be most affected are North24 parganas. South24 Parganas and Purba Medinipur. IMD has also indicated rainfall also be there in other Districts of South Bengal, such as Howrah, Hooghly, Nadia and Kolkata and few Districts in North Bengal.

The leaves of all category of Staffs of District of Paschim Medinipur, Purba Medinipur, South24 Parganas, North24 Parganas, Diamond Harbour Health Districts, Basirhat Health District, Jhargram, Howrah, Hooghly, Nandigram Health District are to be cancelled due to prevailing heavy rain and Cyclone like situation there until further order.

The CMOHs of the above mentioned Districts are requested to run a control room (up to Block level) for the period from 25 to 28 May, 2021 (to be extended if necessary) and to keep the essential logistics ready to combat the said Cyclone Details of control room duties to be shared to the State. The CMOH of North24 Parganas. South24 Parganas & Purba Medinipur including Health Districts are requested to arrange prior admission of pregnant mothers whose EDD are very close to avoid transport hazards due to Cyclone.

A Cyclone control room will run at PH&CD Branch of Swasthya Bhawan during the above mentioned days, the details will be communicated soon.
