ORDER

No. 172-Edn(CS)/1P-1/2013 Dated, Kolkata, the 28th January, 2021

Subject: Grant of Dearness Relief @ 3% to the Pensioners/ Family Pensioners of State-aided Non-Government Colleges with effect from 1st January, 2021.

In pursuance of Memorandum No. 3490-F(P2) dated Howrah, the 14th December, 2020 of Finance (Audit) Department the undersigned is directed to state that the question of grant of Dearness Relief on the Pension/ Family Pension since revised as per recommendation of the 6th Pay Commission has been under consideration of the Government for some time past.

After careful consideration, the Governor has been pleased to decide the following:

(i) The Dearness Relief @ 3% with effect from 01.01.2021 as sanctioned for the State Government Pensioners/Family Pensioners shall also be admissible to the Pensioners/Family Pensioners of State aided Non-Government Colleges, who are in receipt of revised Pension/ revised Family Pension as per recommendations of 6th Pay Commission.

(ii) The Dearness Relief sanctioned herein shall be rounded off to the nearest rupee in each case.

(iii) It will now be responsibility of Pension Disbursing Authority to calculate the quantum of relief on Pension/Family Pension payable to each individual case.

(iv) For the purpose of payment of relief sanctioned herein, the Principal Accountant General (A & E), West Bengal will issue authority to the Public Sector Banks in Kolkata and Accountant General of other States.

(v) The Treasury/ Sub-Treasury Officers in the State will give effect to this order without the authority of the Accountant General (A & E), West Bengal.

(vi) This order is issued in compliance with the Finance Department’s Memo. No. 3490-F(P2) dated Howrah, the 14th December, 2020 (para-iv).
