Online Maintenance of Registers of Appointments

Every appointing authority may maintain Registers of Appointments (RoA) online in the modified format in the web portal www.wbreservation.gov.in developed by the Backward Classes Welfare Department.

Sikshasree Scholarship Scheme

Each of the SC students of Class V to VII will get a grant of Rs. 750/- per annum and those of Class VIII will get a grant of Rs. 800/- per annum, while students belonging to ST and studying from Class V to VIII will get a grant of Rs. 800/- per annum.

Cultural Committee of Backward Classes Welfare Department

Governor is pleased to constitute a new cultural committee for organizing cultural activities viz. Jhumur, Gambhira, Baul, Bhatiyali, Kabi-Gan, Puppetry, Chhau, Sarigan, Bachhari Baich (traditional boat race), Woodcrafts, Kantha Silpa etc.

Redesignation of District Backward Classe Welfare Officer

The post will be filled up by an officer in the pay scale of Rs. 12000 – 18,000/- under W.B.S. (ROPA) Rules, 1998 corresponding to the revised Pay Band 4B of Rs. 28,000 – 52,000/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 7600/- of WBS (ROPA) Rules, 2009.

Monitoring Issuance of Caste Certificates

Time frame has been reduced from eight weeks to four weeks by amending Rule 7D (12) of the West Bengal Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Identification) Rules 1995.
