Department of Water Resources Investigation and Development (DWRI&D) is mainly responsible for providing irrigation services to the small and marginal farmers of West Bengal by implementing various types of minor irrigation schemes under different programmes utilizing both the ground water and surface water resources.
A number of proposals for awarding different service benefits to the employees of the Government of West Bengal and reorganizing the cadre of different Services of Government of West Bengal through creation of some posts were under consideration of the Government for sometime past.
Coupled with increase in cost of Fuel and Lubricants, Water Resources Investigation & Development Department has been contemplating for some time past to review the existing order imposing a ceiling limit for per month per vehicle.
